A few weeks ago I received a note from an opera manager friend of mine telling me about a wonderful young baritone he was working with who was in desperate need of new promo shots.  In his note he told me a bit about Mark, who is currently a student at the prestigious CCM (College Conservatory of Music in Cinncinati) about to embark on a few years with the renowned Houston Grand Opera Studio program.  And not only is Mark incredibly talented, said the note, but he also has great hair.

I did some google stalking and discovered that yes, Mark indeed has a stunning voice, and yes he also has awesome hair.

We shot down in Cincinnati on an unseasonably warm and gorgeous day several weeks ago.  It was such a pleasure to spend an afternoon with Mark and to get to know him and the city of Cincinnati.

Here are a few favorites from our shoot.

Mark is completely a natural in front of the camera.  He also has great style:

I mean, all this shot really needs is a beautiful horse and/or female model dressed in similarly classic earth tones and we’ve got an ad campaign for Ralph Lauren

TIMELESS:

I was really feeling a vintage-y type thing during this shoot and after.  I am not sure if it’s Mark himself or the city of Cincinnati…either way, I think it works.

We found this amazingly narrow brick alleyway that was just ASKING to be used in a photoshoot.  So we obliged:

Seriously, Mark…such natural ease in front of the camera…it just can’t be taught!

This guy has great style, right?

Isn’t his hair AMAZING?!

We moved on to a third, indoor, location for the next series.  These provided the perfect backdrop for some more formal, classic opera shots.

Mark, it was such a pleasure to meet you!  I look forward to hearing great things from you and about you during this next phase of your career!  Congratulations on the recent and future successes you are sure to have!!
