In the day to day of running a business, rushing off to various shoots, and keeping our personal lives together it is sometimes all too easy to forget this simple fact:As photographers we are first and foremost the record keepers of our time.When my business was still in its early stages my husband had a colleague who lived with her gorgeous family nearly next door to us. A beautiful person, inside and out, Melissa was tragically taken from this world last weekend. She was a courageous and inspirational person but also absolutely lovely, warm, and generous. I can’t believe she is gone. I am sending so much love to her husband, to their 3 beautiful children, and to the loving community of Wooster where she lived.Here is a shot of Melissa with her eldest child from a family shoot we did together back before I was even shooting film again.
